It may be best to add "the" before holidays, as generally we say "the holidays" instead of just "holidays" to mean specific time when people are taking a break, for example during Christmas or Easter

Yes, but I am assuming you are using holidays to reference certain days on which people have a day-off / multiple days-off from school or work due to something special that is celebrated on those days. 'Holiday' has a slightly different definition between certain English-speaking populations. Which one are you referring to?
