Are need to bury Lenin or not ? My own opinion, - yes Lenin must be buried, but in 20-40 years later. Until people who grow up in USSR is living, make buring Lenin, will be humiliation and affront for they. It is same as Christa Spasitelya cathedral was exploded was affront for Christians, some time before. It is so fresh history now, no need to touch it now. We must avoid repeat historical mistakes, as words in revolution's song "до основания, а затем... (destruct anything to base, and than...)". Let's make more respect to our history, to lifes and ideals of Soviet Union people. Let's remember the spirit of 1917 year, that indicate "we have dark past, our present is painful, and we will have beautiful future ". We need get knowledge from our history and make respect and proud to our history, we need have pleasure from present time (don't struggle against difficults every time), and find our independent and unique way to the future.

Do we need to bury Lenin or not?

Yes, Lenin must be buried, but 20 to 40 years from now.

Until people who grew up in USSR are no longer living, buring Lenin would be a humilation and an affront for them. It is the same as when the Christa Spasitelya cathedral was blown up. It was an affront for Christians. It is such fresh history right now that there is no need to touch it.We must avoid repeating historical mistakes, just like the lyrics in the revolution song say, "....." (???) Lets give proper respect to our history, our lives and the ideals of the people of the Soviet Union. Let's remember the spirit of the year of 1917 that indicate, "we have a dark past, our present is painful and we will have beautiful future." We need to get knowledge from our history and and be proud of it. We need to take pleasure from the present (and not struggle all of the time), find our independence and take a different path into the future.

Not everything is the same, and I'm not good enought at Russian (yet:) to try to read the original text...I just tried to correct some things to make it easier to read:)

Thanks for your comment. I wonder, is this how people in general in your country perceive Lenin and the revolution? Were there more people who held onto the revolutionary ideas of Lenin than those who didn't? I've read that the peasantry had never identified with the revolution, at least initially. Hmm, that's an interesting point you raised. I seem to study the revolution devoid of its more emotive elements. I guess that's because I'm an outsider. Probably, if I were Russian, it would be difficult to study it without considering the emotive elements too.

Joanna, October Revolution at 7 Nov , had really only dozens people died in St.Peterburg. But for example in Moscow had already more than 100 people died. And every city every village in country have more and more own victims of Revolution. It was civil war inside country. I have shown only official statistic from USSR historians. But you need understand October Revolution was not simply changing one president to another it was war between social classes. It is mean, revolution was repeating and repeating in each city, in each village in each house, in each family for a long years. One brother was killing another brother for the revolution ideas... It was tragic time in our history.

I meant that during that particular time, it was peaceful. October Revolution was a bloodless revolution, wasn't it?
