ability

A colleague said to me that he has a low ability for work and does not make much effort.

And he also said that he did does not know how to enhance his ability and or how to get work better.

In my view, he is smart enough and is making an effort at work.

I have no idea what (can/will) make him satisfied, but I am ready to listen to him anytime.

I wonder if he's stuck in a rut. . . .
