I am back Hello italki people, I am back here to keep with my atudying. I've been doing a bit of everything during the last six months and I think I got some progress in my abilities. I make mistakes but I think I am better to explain myself and my ideas, discuss business topics, answer emails, attend meetings and all that kind of stuff. I this time I am studying grammar again and listening an I would like to share what I'm doing to improve =Listening I order to improve my listening I use to what videos on youtube. I use the subscriptions so I get new videos from people that I am familiar with. I have a large list of people that I follow on youtube I would like to talk/write about them in future italki entries so I will not reveal my subscriptions now. Basically what I do is to watch one hour daily of a menu of different people that upload videos. Some of then speak very fast but the good part is that they use common language so this is good. In terms of listening that is what I'm doing now. Let's talk about grammar =Grammar I'm the kind of person that look for the easiest way to complete a task. Since grammar is a complex topic to study I'm always looking new ways to study grammar and keep motivated with my studying. What I'm doing now is to create mind maps. I like to create mind maps because I learn while I create the map and then I learn when I review the map. My process is first at all I get a book of grammar. Then I create the mind map with an application like mindmanager and then I study my map. I start my studying collapsing all the nodes and then I ask to myself the meaning of a question. i.e. there is a collapsed node with the questions. What is a noun?, then I expand the node to look the answer but before I ask to myself the answer. =Speaking This is something that I'm doing and I think is giving me good results. I record videos of 5 to 10 minutes with my camera. In this videos I explain a very simple topic like. How I brush my teeth. I start with a introduction like. "Hello this is Mario and today I will explain you how I brush my teeth", then I develop the conversation. I'm always try to keep the conversation going. If I made a mistake I try to continue saying something like "sorry, I wanted to say.." and then I continue until explain the idea or get drained of ideas. =Writing I write emails in English all day in my work.
