informal greetings are made to friends, relatives and neighbors but formal greetings are made to higher officials , clients etc..

What's the difference between formal and informal greeting ? How to greet formally and how to greet informally? ?

Formal: How do you do?/How are we doing?/A nice day isn't it? etc

Informal: Hello/Hi/Howdy
