IELTS writing task 2 answer (22) (what makes a good teacher, enough training or teaching experience) Question: "Some people say that to become a good teacher, you should acquire enough training, while others say that teaching capabilities can be developed with experience. Discuss both views and give your opinion." Answer: Whether it is sufficient training or teaching experience that makes a good teacher is a controversial issue. I would argue that these two aspects are both essential to a qualified teacher. It is undeniable that courses in teacher-training institutes can offer knowledge that cannot be obtained from several years of teaching experience. These courses include educational psychology, pedagogy and so forth, which are essence abstracted from hundreds or even thousands years of experience of educators and scholars. It is impossible for teachers to come up with all these theories all by themselves. This is why most schools and universities require their teachers to have a teacher certification, which can only be achieved by finishing adequate training. On the other hand, experiences are also of vital importance in teaching. Experienced teachers know how to respond to complicated situations quickly and avoid making mistakes that they have already made in their former teaching lives. For example, experienced high school teachers may find and praise the merits of those so-called “poor students” instead of just urging them to study hard, because these teachers have much experience in reverse psychology displayed by teenagers. In my opinion, it is essential that teachers apply their theoretical knowledge into practice to adjust their teaching methods to suit real teaching situations. Not all knowledge they acquire in training courses is perfectly appropriate for all specific cultures and every type of target student. As a result teachers should choose the right methods from the books and modify them to form the most appropriate techniques. This is particularly the case for those teachers who have to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds. In conclusion, I believe that both training courses and teaching experience are significantly important for an excellent teacher.

IELTS writing task 2 answer (22) (what makes a good teacher, enough training or teaching experience)

Question:
"Some people say that to become a good teacher, you should acquire enough training, while others say that teaching capabilities can be developed with experience. Discuss both views and give your opinion."

Answer:
Whether it is sufficient training or teaching experience that makes a good teacher is a controversial issue. [This is OK.  But think about this alternative: "<em>What makes a a good teacher is a controversial issue. In this article, I will examine whether or not training or experience can be sufficient in their own right, or if a combination of the two is required. My conclusion will be that both aspects... </em>]

I would argue that both two aspects are both essential to become a good / competent teacher. ["<em>Qualified" meanshere  approved / accredited / certificated</em>]

It is undeniable that courses in teacher-training institutes can offer [<em>or "provide"</em>] knowledge that cannot be obtained from several years of teaching experience. These courses include educational psychology, pedagogy and so forth, which are, in essence, abstracted from hundreds or even thousands of years of experience of [or "<em>gained by</em>"] educators and scholars. It is impossible for teachers to come up with all these theories all by themselves. This is why most schools and universities require their teachers to have a teacher certification [or "<em>require teachers to be qualified"</em>], and this can only be achieved by completing adequate training.

On the other hand, experience is also of vital importance in teaching. Experienced teachers know how to respond to complicated situations quickly and avoid making [<em>or : "repeating"</em>] mistakes that they have already made earlier on in their teaching careers.  For example, experienced high school teachers may find [<em>or : "identify"</em>] and praise the merits of those so-called “poor students” instead of just urging them to study hard [<em>or :"harder"</em>], because these teachers have much experience in the reverse psychology displayed by teenagers.

In my opinion, it is essential that teachers apply their theoretical knowledge into practice by adjusting their teaching methods to suit real [<em>or : "real-life"]</em> teaching situations. Not all the knowledge they acquire in [<em>or from</em>] training courses is perfectly [<em>or : wholly</em>] appropriate for all specific cultures or every type of target student. As a result, teachers should choose the right [<em>or : the most suitable</em>] methods from the books [<em>or : literature</em>] and modify them to form the most appropriate techniques. This is particularly the case for those teachers who have to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds.

In conclusion, I believe that both training courses and teaching experience are significantly [<em>or : highly</em>] important [<em>or: crucial</em>] for an excellent teacher [<em>or : for a teacher to excel in their profession</em>].

<em>[Excellent work.  I have mainly suggested alternatives words or phrases that sound a bit more stylish and natural in English.  Apart from a few little errors, the grammar is perfect. Michael</em>]
