Steve Jobs and Apple To many people, Steve Jobs, the former CEO of Apple, was the most creative businessman in the world. He co-founded Apple and had served as its CEO, and he was also a large shareholder of Disney. But to Apple fans, myself included, Steve Jobs was more like an artist. Over the years, Apple has brought us loads of beautifully-designed high-tech gadgets such as iPod, iPhone and Macbook. I remember my first Apple product-- an iPhone. It was a birthday present from my friend. It’s white, just the color I like. It’s slim and light, which makes it perfectly portable. I can easily carry my iPhone in my pocket. And there are so many cool apps in Applestore, which makes it convenient to search or to download. And the picture quality of the camera inside is pretty good. It is a decent smartphone, both on pragmatic and entertainment level, for people who do not necessarily have too much knowledge on electronic devices, like me. The only thing I could complain is the battery. I have to recharge it practically everyday. Steve Jobs has an inquiring mind. He illustrated his philosophy at a speech in Standford University, which entitled ‘stay hungry stay foolish’. He was a great public speaker. His presentations became model lessons of how to deliver messages like Steve Jobs did. He was always in a black turtleneck and a pair of jeans during a presentation, enunciating every single word, with the help of slides show, which obviously had been rehearsed a lot. According to his biography, he was a complex combination, both sensitive and crude at the same time. He was especially uptight, ignored people’s opinion, always argued with others in order to get his way, tried to get out of responsibilities, and treated people with bad manners. In conclusion, he was not a nice guy to get along with. He was not a nice co-worker, not a nice husband and definitely not a good father. I recall a story in the biography, that he and his wife argued for a month to decide what kind of washing machine they should have. Maybe it is the pursuit of perfection that led him eventually became the father of Apple. He was a Buddhist, which could not help explain why he was so aggressive and feisty. He was a vegetarian, but passed away at such a young age...
