At a Party

I attended a party last weekend. It was a buffet-style dinner party, so people were busying serving themselves and talking with one another. Also,music was being played aloud, so actually, it was very noisy. Even when some people gave their speeches, there was only some desultory applause. I felt kind of sorry for them.

There were some kids invited as well, and the person sitting next to me by chance was a lady holding a toddler. The toddler looked grumpy and was making some noise. And then, she suddenly pushed away a glass on the table. And guess what happened? My dress got wet! But I was still lucky because it was just some water. If that had been red wine, coffee, or soup, there could have been more trouble. Small kids always do a lot of unexpected things.
