Trying to learn English. Hello. There are some problems trouble me. I listen BBC NEWS every day, but it is not easy for me. The reporters read a little bit fast. If I want to understand the whole context, I must listen to it time and time again after I read the answer. Of course, I cannot understand what they said because I am not familiar with those English words and liaison. To be honest, my spoken English is terrible. I daren’t speak English with others. I can imagine how faltering I am. I don’t know how to improve. How difficult English is! I hope my daily practice is helpful, or I will cry in a corner! Just a joke. The frequency of my practice is too low. I am trying to find a more efficient approach.

Of course I would say this, wouldn't I, but I think you should continue to listen to the BBC, because the pronunciation is usually quite clear, and in time you will find it easier to keep up. Don't worry about repeated listening - that's part of the exercise - to become familiar with the sounds, and the structure, of the language. I noticed that someone has corrected your phrase 'I daren't speak English with others', which is actually good English - this is what we would say, although in writing 'I dare not' [without the contraction], or 'I don't dare' is better. I don't think there is a more efficient approach than what you are doing, although there's no harm in using other methods at the same time. There is no 'quick fix' ; just keep on with what you are doing, and your English will improve.

I would recommend you download Duolingo.. I believe there is an English course for Chinese speakers. Also, an American radio broadcast might be easier for you to understand. Americans have a much more neutral accent, and might be easier to understand. In addition, Americans speak a bit slower as well. Also, listening to music in English, and watching films in English might help you quite a bit. Furthermore, I'd recommend you read books in English as well. Bookw can help you gain a grasp in sentence structure, and proper grammar. When you get a grasp of those things, it's only natural that you'll start to speak in the same manner. I hope this has helped! You should also find a partner that you can Skype with to help you with your English learning endeavor! Good luck! ^-^

You shouldn't let yourself get so frustrated over this. It took me a long time of learning English before I could actually understand what I was listening to. It is a difficult process that takes time. I believe you should keep doing similar exercises, but doing them in a way that doesn't get you so frustrated. Give yourself some goals that you can accomplish, and small victories that keep you motivated, so you don't lose interest or give up because of frustration. You don't need to hurry or beat yourself up because you can't understand everything, you will get there eventually!

Trying to learn English.

Hello.
There are some problems that are troubling me. I listen to BBC NEWS every day, but it is not easy for me. The reporters read a little bit fast("a bit too fast" might sound more natural here). If I want to understand the whole context, I must listen to it over and over again after I read the answer. Of course, I cannot understand what they said because I am not familiar with those English words and liaison. To be honest, my spoken English is terrible. I don't dare to speak English with others. I can imagine how faltering I am. I don’t know how to improve. How difficult English is!
I hope my daily practice is helpful, or I will cry in a corner! Just a joke("I'm just joking" might sound more natural here). The frequency of my practice is too low. I am trying to find a more efficient approach.
