Diary Entry for February 3rd

This Spring Festival, my aunt's son and her daughter-in-law, along with her two granddaughters came back home. Her son got married with an academic girl and live together in another province. Today I saw them share on social media that the whole family cooked dumplings together. It reminds me that dumplings are China's most symbolic food. I once heard a lot of praises for our dumplings and most of them came from foreigners. I guess it is not only because they are delicious, but also an activity that can promote family affection (bonding) by making them together.
There are many different dumpling fillings that you can choose from, e.g.; cabbage, allium tuberosum (chives), celery,
pork, beef, mutton and chicken. In general, our family choose to mix up pork and cabbage as the dumpling filling. I think this mixture is very delicious！
