Discursive essay: Medical advances will soon mean that people will live until they are 200 years old Hi! I´m Alejandra. I´m preparing an English exam and it will be great if someone help me with the mistakes in this essay Thanks! :) It is universally acknowledged that Medicine, as other sciences, has experienced an incredible development in last century. Antibiotics, vaccines, new cancer treatments and the surgery advancement can make us think that, in only a few years, we are going to be immortal or, at less, we are going to live until we have 200 years old. Is it possible, however? In the last decades, vaccines have avoided the dead of thousands of people, such as antibiotics. Likewise, the introduction of blood transfusions and anaesthesia in surgery allows doctors to save lots of lives. Nevertheless, avoiding these illnesses we are creating a society full of aged people and, as a result, other illness such as Alzheimer´s disease or Parkinson´s disease are getting more and more common. We are removing lots of illness, conversely another ones are appearing. Human´s body is an imperfect machine and that´s why we get ill. Even though Medicine is doing a lot of progress we are made of cells, and the cycle of the cells include aging and dead. Maybe one day we can live 200 or 300 years old but is important taking in count that death is a part of life and, for this reason, we are never going to be immortals.

We will be like Methuselah, as old as the hills...but I think that the medicine and mainly, the pharmaceutical industry works with ulterior motive ...so why are there so many death, wars, hunger, new illnesses? Why are there countries with overproduction of food, when other don't have to eat? we are very developmental delay...
