'Then' vs 'Than'?
This is an example of words that often confuse people.
'Then' usually expresses a sense of time. It can be used as an adverb or an adjective.
1. We filled up the car and then began the trip. (used as an adverb)
2. The bill was signed by then President (or 'then-President') Ronald Reagan. (used as an adjective)
'Than' is a conjunction used to make comparisons.
1. I would rather eat than sleep.
The two are easy to confuse, but with practice, one can learn to differentiate between them.
