Hi, I'm Japanese and your Japanese are great:-)

There is a difficult different to use にorへ when you indicate the place you go.

Almost same but に include the meaning 「point to a place or direction」and へ include the meaning「a way(course?) of motion / return point / an object directed」

About  "I did my best!" I'm not really sure how natives use this expression with what kind of meaning.

However if I construed literally, ありがとうございます(thank you) feel little different for me (or from Japanese culture?).

I wish you could understand my English. What you see, I'm a beginner of learning English same as you:-)
