Beginners Japanese Reading It's difficult for me to find suitable materials for practicing Japanese reading. I'm a beginner in the language. I found Japanese books in the local libraries, but there is no hurigana with hiragana or kanji. I once checked out one Japanese children's book but I didn't even open it up until I returned it. It was overwhelming to read a book written in Japanese as a beginner. However, I don't want to study only workbooks all day long. As a beginner it's wonderful to practice reading using materials that have been written for young natives. Texts written for young Japanese people may have kanji, vocabulary and grammar that I'm not familiar with. But being exposed to them will help to grow in the language. Even though I'm a beginner, I want to improve Japanese skills by reading diligently as well as studying textbooks. Today I visited some Japanese websites for Japanese native speakers to get some free reading materials, but I had no idea what that site said. So I realized reaching an intermediate level will take more than five years since I need to work for a living and raise three kids. There is no such thing as a free lunch as always. Practice makes perfect. I haven't even mastered the English language either all these years, but my English learning experience has never tired me out. So it would do the same with Japanese learning as well.
