Therefore, the purpose of this essay is to define the book genres which seem to have the most value in the society of today. The first genre which in my opinion will never lose its importance is historical literature. Politicians claim that without the experience of previous generations, it would be practically impossible to rule the modern countries. That seems to be quite reasonable, especially taking into account that most of the modern governmental structures are copied after those of Ancient Rome. On the other hand, it is argued that history works are nothing but fiction, as most of the historical facts are restored based on insufficient sources, and as s far as I am concerned, there is a grain of truth in this statement. Thus, I believe it is science literature that deserves to be called the most essential type of reading these days. Since almost every action a person takes in their routine life is in some way assisted by electronic gadgets, learning how technology works is of crucial significance nowadays. Moreover, reading rather complex scientific literature might be challenging, but nothing improves your overall erudition like it does. Summing up, reading all types of literature not only retained but enhanced its significance in modern world. However, if several generations ago the place of fiction and historical literature was preponderant, today scientific books are increasing in popularity, as only they can make the modern world order clearer to us.
