IELTS preperation - writing task 1 - pie charts Hey, this is another short essay for the IELTS writing task. I would be happy if you can give me some advice because my writing is not the best and I need at least band 6.5. Thanks for your help!! =) The pie chart shows the difference between six major areas of the world regarding their use of water. Overall, the pie charts show three different fields of use (industrial use, agricultural use, domestic use) for each major area. It is noticeable that western countries (Europe, North America) use water mostly for industrial purpose while developing countries from South East Asia, Central Asia, Africa and South America are more willing to distribute water towards traditional agriculture. In terms of industrial use, Europe is slightly over North America with a difference of 5% and a total of 53%, which is compared to Africa (7%), Central Asia (5%) and South East Asia (12%) a lot higher. The lowest industrial consumption of water is found in Central Asia, which on the opposite has the highest percentage regarding agricultural use. According to the data, South America's domestic industry uses the biggest share of water (19%) in contrast to the lowest share in Central Asia and South East Asia (both 7%). Compared to the huge differences in industrial and agricultural use, the domestic consumption in all areas only swings between 7% and 19% and therefore is relatively stable.
