Speaking of online communication, there were a lot of interesting things worth talking about in the last 20 years. I still remember the first time I had a chat with others online 21 years ago. At that time, I was in high school and always felt depressed about my academic work. People around me included my family couldn't understand me. In that case, I opened an account on social media and tried to meet people online who felt the same. Fortunately, I made some friends, and we shared all of our thoughts and anxiety about high school life. I felt relaxed and finished the rest of my academic life in a great mood. So, I got a lot of benefits from online communication before. Nowadays, we contact others by using social medias every day, but I seldom share personal things online. Today, I only use social media as a tool to communicate about work. I don’t get the feeling that it can help me overcome the hardships like I did 20 years ago. Though I am always under pressure due to work, family and other things, I really don't want to share anything online. Maybe an adults’ world mainly consists of loneliness. Sometimes I write something on a notebook on a silent night, I just want to communicate with myself using this outdated way.
