"Keep in a cold place on ... "
I've come aross this sentence in online quiz. The variants of the answer were clothes, furniture and food. The difficutly is I don't understand the question at all. As far as I know "to keep on" means "to continue". I could say "Keep food in a cold place", but the construction of the sentence is totally different. Could you explain?
Thx)

Liza,
"On" means "concerning" or "about" in your test.
Keep in a cold place.
on food
on clothes
on furniture
concerning clothes
concerning food
concerning furniture
The answer could be food (the obvious answer) or clothes. It is best to keep fur coats in a cold place. :)

The sentence was intended to mean: Do not take off your clothes when you are in a cold place. I think it is correct in expression, but somewhat formal. It can be reworded as follows: Keep on your clothes in a cold place, and this is much easier to understand. The cause of difficulty in understanding is the word order. And the phrase ' keep on' means ' continue wearing your clothes, do not undress.
