Is "It leaves a deep impression on me" an authentic expression?
Or, the authentic way to say should be "It makes a deep impression on me"

these phrases are fine although most often used in the past tense:
>> It left / made a deep impression on me
be aware that "an impression" can also mean an imprint :))))
