没 vs. 不，sometimes the same, most of the time different?
Since I started studying Chinese, one of the most important rules was to distinguish these two in your sentence. But then it seems that there are times where they can have the same meaning in a sentence;
他说的话我没听懂 \ 他说的话我听不懂。(according to the Chinese people I have asked).
I thought 没 introduces some aspect of time, and enables use of 了 but here the rule does not apply?
Followup question; why is there 1001 ways to say the same thing in Chinese?
我这么爱中文，但是有时候让我的头坏了 ;(

“不”— subjective    action for the  future             eg:我不去上海（I don't wanna go to SH)
“没”—objectives     action did not  happen in the past eg:我没去上海（I didn't go to SH)
 
“看不到”   VS “没看到”
“看不到” ——you can not see  sth(maybe sth cover your eyes so you can not see it)
”没看到”——you did not see sth

听不懂（your intelligence makes you can not understand)
没听懂(he did not speak distinctly )
the same rescult is :you do not understand :)

不 it usually use to negate present or future actions it can't negate past tense.
eg. 我不喝啤酒。/明天我不上课。 we can't say 昨天我不上课。

没，it ususally to negate past or present actions we can't use it to negate future tense.
eg. 我没喝酒。 昨天我没上课。we can't say 我明天没上课。

不 is also can negate usual or habitual actions. eg 我不喜欢唱歌。 他经常不来上课。

我听不懂。 听不懂 is the resultive complement it is a little different.  听不懂 is actually  the nagative for the 听得懂
