The meaning is completely different.
'Crack' refers to crack cocaine, a highly addictive form of cocaine, a regulated drug in almost every country.
A hit of crack is a dose of crack - enough to get you high. Whether it will get somebody high depends on the tolerance to the drug that the person has developed.
It is definitely NOT the same as going to a bar and getting drunk.

Well, a "hit of crack" is... a hit of crack. There's no analogy here.
