I will explain the meaning using English, but it is still
up to you to find an appropriate way to express the same meaning nuance in English.
a) adesso torno a casa
b) adesso me ne torno a casa
(b) adds a subtle meaning to (a) :
we use it to emphasize, or to state one of the followings, or both:
1) I am going back alone
2) something did not go as I thought, I experienced a small or big disappointment
I you threw a party at your house, hearing a guest saying:
A) me ne torno a casa,
you would ask him or her something like:
B) qualcosa non e` andato bene ?
Or :
A) torno a casa
B) per favore stai ancora un po`
Conclusione:
------------------
Forse tornare a passo veloce ?
Nooo
The emotion /contento/ is already implied by /me ne torno/.

Torno a casa: I am coming back home
Vado a casa: I am going home
Me ne torno a casa... there isn't a literal equivalent but you could say
'I am going to make my way back home'
