Yes, bathing and swimming are two different things. When you bathe you take a bath because you're dirty.
When you swim it is for leisure.

bathe = immerse ,cover with liquid
swim = float on the surface of a liquid

Bathe = To wash as in a bath. To wash or moisten with any liquid.
Swim = To propel oneself in water, to float .
