How are the rules or meanings of use "to get" in English? How are the rules or meanings of use "to get" in combinations with another words in English language? For example: the frase "Have you got the time"? How many these examples in the English? Thanks a lot all members of italki.com who will answer to my question to help me.

Do you get it? = Do you understand it? Get dressed = dress oneself (Slang) Get a grip = calm down, get control of yourself. Get the gist = Understand the main point of what is being said. Get out = leave Get in = enter, as in get in a car. Get on a plane = board the plane (I hope you're not ON it, but IN it.)

"Get" is simply one of those nebulous words you will have to get used to. ;) The best option is to look at the context - ie. the whole phrase - and you'll get the meaning.
