My Chinese husband also says it's the same meaning but he noticed that in Hong Kong and Taiwan they mostly use 资讯. And mainland China uses 信息. (He didn't read Snoo's comment.)

i dont think they have much different，信息 is in common use。资讯 likes news more。see？

From my understanding of Mandarin Chinese '咨询' is more referring to consultation whereas '信息' is more general information.

first impression: 资讯 is most used by chinese speaker outside mainland china, like taiwan, hongkong, singapore, etc, it actually sounds more fancy. second thought: I also want to know about their diffrence.
