both sounds fine, but the second sentence is grammatically fitter. the actual from is 'to look forward/looking forward', which is a phrasal verb. the 'to' is kind of confounder as it appears to be the infinitive, but in fact it functions like a preposition here. i want to meet you('to is the infinitive part) but, i want to get used to meeting you(the first 'to' is the infinitive particle, and the second one being a preposition) therefore the gerund(noun equivalent) form should(meet+ing) be used for the direct object. hope it helps...

'I am looking forward to meeting you' is right. Because 'to' is preposition that is followed by gerund or noun form.

In my opinion you should write "meeting", why..... Maybe it's a collocation and we have to remember it by heart:))) Natalia

Hi Karen, lots of learners are puzzled by this. The rule is you must use a gerund (not an infinitive) after prepositions. Other examples are: I'm thinking ABOUT goING to the beach; he apologized FOR breakING the vase; she's always dreamed OF livING abroad; etc.
