"Class marker" What does that mean? I'd love to have your help! There's no difference in meaning, but, at least in the UK, "in a long time" could be a class marker. What does "A class marker mean?

A class marker would be something that identifies you to other people as belonging to a certain class - lower, middle, professional, upper, etc.

Can you provide more context, such as the prior sentence? I really don't understand this sentence. Maybe because I'm an American English speaker and not British?
