"Mucho gusto" can be used in both situations.
Less formal versions:
"un gusto"
"un placer"
"tanto gusto"
"me da gusto conocerte"
More formal versions:
"Ha sido un (verdadero) placer (conocerle)"
"He sentido un gran honor por conocerle"
"Es para mí un agrado conocerle"

INFORMAL (More used)

FORMAL (More common)
