Qual é a diferença entre apanhar e tomar (um autocarro, uma camioneta, um taxi etc.)?

Não sabia que se diz ' tomar um ônibus '. No Brasil se diz ' pegar um ônibus/táxi/carro'. Não moro em Portugal mas acho que o certo seria ' tomar '. Só acho :s .

Acho que não há diferença. Só que aqui no Brasil a gente fala mais 'pegar um táxi' etc.

Como já foi dito, APANHAR seria correto - e mais frequente em Portugal.
Já no Brasil, APANHAR é menos frequente. Usamos regularmente "PEGAR", por exemplo:
1. Pegar um táxi, pegar o ônibus, pegar carona.

Apanhar só. Tomar não existe nesse contexto.
