이다 means roughly "to be" (something)
이에요/예요 means is something...
What is the difference?

이다 = informal
이예요 = formal (i feel like it's more used for personal statements)
이십니다 = more formal
examples:
넌 정말 노답이다. = you're helpless.
넌 참 이쁘다. = you're pretty.
전 라니스터 이예요. = i'm a lannister.
당신은 저의 희망이십니다. = you are my hope.
