Maybe it's the PLUG (on the end of the cable attached to the iron) ?

It is an "iron" or an "electric iron." I can't think of anything else.
The word "planchette" means the device used for spirit writing on a Ouija board. It looks similar. In Spanish, the word for "iron" is "plancha."
