What are other ways of complimenting food/cooking in spanish?
I only know is "Esta comida es deliciosa" o "Esta comida fue muy buena"
Are there any other words or even proverbs I can use?

Indeed, we do also use other expressions and synonyms as well:
- Está (muy) rico.
- Está (muy) sabroso.
- Esta comida (está) muy rica.
- Esta comida (está) sabrosa.
- Está excelente
- Está espectacular
I'll comment again if I can think of more :)

Esta comida esta salada.
Esta comida sabe extraño.
Esta comida es Italiana.
Esta comida tiene buen sazón.

Si la comida no te gutó, puedes decir:
- La comida está mala (desabrida, asquerosa).
