livre = nom habituel.
bouquin = nom familier (il est rarement utilisé au Québec, et seulement dans un sens négatif)

Il n'y a aucune différence : ce sont des synonymes.
'Bouquin' est issu du néerlandais 'boek' (en anglais: book). Ce mot désignait autrefois un vieux livre, mais il est devenu synonyme de livre.
