Future tense help: using "-겠" and "-ㄹ/을"
I have been learning about furture tense, and how to conjugate it using different respect levels. This is what I first learned:
먹다: 먹겠어 -> 먹겠어요 -> 먹겠습니다
Then the author was explaing using furture tense with the "-ㄹ/을 것이다" form. So like this:
먹을 것이에요
He also said you could use it like this:
먹을 거예요
My question is when do you use which form? Is it a preference? Is the "-ㄹ/을 것이다" form used at a certain respect level?
for example:
저는 밥을 먹겠어요.
저는 밥을 먹을 것이에요.
I know both sentences are correct, but when do you use them? Is one more common than the other?
Thank you for your help ^^

"저는 밥을 먹겠어요" kind of represents the preferance for something.
It means "I'd rather eat rice"/"I'd rather have a meal"
But "저는 밥을 먹을 것이에요." means "I'm going to eat rice"/" I'm going to have a meal" This expression shows your willingness of doing something.
Koreans say both the expressions frequently, but I'd recommend you to say "저는 밥을 먹을거에요" if you want to say "I'm gonna have a meal"
