1.- Hoy es mi vigésimo primer cumpleaños (es una expresión formal, coloquialmente se puede decir "Hoy cumplo 21 años".)
2.- Hoy cumplí 21 años.

hoy cumplo 21 años recuerda la "ññññ" sino significara otra cosa :D

2. - I turned 21 today, - Hoy cumplí 21 (veintiún).

- Hoy es mi vigésimo primer cumpleaños.
- Hoy cumplo 21 (veintiún) años.
However, saying "vigésimo primer (21st)" would sound too formal, old-fashioned and kind of pompous, so you better switch to the 2nd way
