Which one to use? I'm wondering which of the following sentences is commonly used "Alas, it's rainy today" "Unfortunately, it's rainy today" Is it the same meaning? Thanks !

Both are acceptable. The second one is more common. The word "alas" is considered archaic. It's mostly used in a literary context.
