How to say 'rank' (military) in Portuguese. Can someone with a Portuguese military background or knowledge confirm that posto (or grau) is the correct word when referring to military rank. Eles são uns Majors no exército. They are Majors in the Army Ele detém o posto de major no Exército. He holds the rank of Major in the Army. Ela posto é Major Ela grau é Major Her rank is Major

Eles são MAJORES no exército. They are Majors in the Army Ele detém o posto de major no Exército. He holds the rank of Major in the Army. O POSTO DELA É MAJOR O GRAU DELA É MAJOR Her rank is Major It's used major or majores (plural) in portuguese to refer to military rank

Pode usar a palavra "patente". Her rank is Major = Sua patente é de Major = A patente dela é de Major.

No contexto militar, "Ele detém o posto de major no Exército" é mais usado. Apesar de não prejudicar a compreensão em si, a palavra "grau" não é muito utilizada nesta situação específica. Espero ter ajudado.
