As native speakers, we already know intuitively who we should use "tú" with, and, unless it's the person themselves that ask you to "tutearlos", it would be considered impolite to even ask. The only case in which asking this directly might be considered appropiate, is when there already is a lot of trust and familiarity between two people or when they are of the same age.
That being said, the safest way to ask this would probably be:
Disculpe, ¿está bien si lo tuteo?
Disculpe, ¿le molestaría si lo trato de "tú"?
If there already is A LOT of trust, you can ask:
¿Puedo tutearte?
Disculpa, puedo tuearte, ¿no?
However, it's probable that the other person knows your first language is not Spanish, and it may not be a big deal if you make a mistake, most would even kindly correct you.
Also: Como siempre, tampoco duden en corregirme si algo de lo que escribo está equivocado [si cometo errores, si algo está mal escrito, si algo de lo que he escrito no es correcto, si algo de lo que he escrito no está bien].
