Come si dice "was going to" (fare qualcosa)?
Non sono sicuro come dire "was going to" o "were going to" in italiano.
Per esempio: I was going to have an apple for breakfast = __________ avere una mela per colazione.

Direi: "Stavo per fare colazione con una mela", oppure "Stavo per mangiare una mela a colazione".

/stavo per/ e` corretto, ma nel tuo esempio devi cambiare il verbo /avere/ con /prendere/.
1a. Stavo per prendere una mela a colazione.
oppure:
1b. Stavo per prendere una mela come colazione.
