Particular Verb وصل - When used in dialogue? Good day to you, I'm currently learning Arabic and have found usage of this verb to be a little confusing for me. I'm aware of verb conjugation and it all seems fine for the most part, however in this book which follows dialogue between 2/3 people, the dialogue goes as follows: (I will write the Arabic what is shown, and the translation that is given) Person 1: وصلت السيارة (The car has arrived) Person 2: وصلت السيارة ! هيا بنا. (The car has arrived! Let's go) Person 1: هيا بنا (Let's go) Now my problem is with the verb here, (Wasalati) - (وصلت), The ending corresponds to 'You' for a female. The word 'The car' (ASiyaara) - (السيارة) is feminine, however the ending sounds like the person is talking directly to the car. I thought it would be rather than the ending 'ti' (feminine you) it would be 'at' (She) - To make 'Wasalat'. I thought it would be more like: The car (she/) has arrived, rather than The car (you/) has arrived. Can anyone give me any clarification for this please?

WaSaLaT is not same as WaSaLTi WaSaLaT 3rd person referring to she WaSaLTi 2nd person referring to you ( F ) when you are talking with 2nd person the letter before T has no vowel

now if you're talking about el kasra that's because the letter after it is saken there's skoon on the ا and there's a rule in arabic that there can't be two letters with skoon on them next to each other so you put kasra on the ت

Hello Ibrahim, As I see that u make it so difficult,but it's so easy : Firstly , It's (Wasalat) not (Wasalati) for grammatical function . And yes ..we deal with the verb as it is feminine or male such as : أشرقت الشمس (Ashraqat el shams) "Sun shone" Or حل الصيف ( Haala Al saief) " summer came " and وصَلَتَ السياره (Wasalat el sayara) * So you should see the subject then treat with the verb depending on the subject. * I hope it became clear .. * He doesn't talk to the car.He is only referring to it,and the car in Arabic is feminine as it ends with (ة) and if you have any question ,u can ask

hey honne. yes you're right it should end with it as in assyara wasalat. not in ti as the person is speaking to the car. well guess what ? it doesn't! i can't see what made you read it as assyara wasalti there's no ي in the ending. so it's right and not confusing at all it's the way you think it should be السيارة وصلت assyara wasalt not assyara wasalti.

Well, I'll give you an example. -"وصلت السيارة" The verb here sounds like "Wasalati". -Another example is when the ending sounds like the person is talking directly to the car, as you said, but I'll give you an example when we talking directly to a female. "متى وصلت اليوم من رحلتك الطويلة؟" The verb "وصلت" here sounds like "Wasalti". Notice the difference between "Wasalati" and "Wasalti". I hope that helps, but it's better to wait for another answer.
