Me stesso
Hello everyone!
To say MYSELF in Italian I have seen that it is ME STESSO, does STESSO change to STESSA for females? If so, would this then change SE STESSI to SE STESSE in the LORO form? Or, NOI STESSI to NOI STESSE in the NOI form?
Could I also say DI ME? to say the same meaning?
Thanks!

MALE FORM --------> FEMALE FORM
me stesso OR io stesso ------> me stessa OR io stessa
se stessi OR loro stessi --------> se stesse OR loro stesse
noi stessi --------> noi stesse
"Di me" and "me stesso/me stessa" are different expressions even if they seem similar:
"di me" is used in the "genitive way" (in the German or Latin way); "me stesso" in a reflexive way.
but sometimes you can't use use one expression rather than the other one. Few examples:
1) I myself have made a lot of mistakes in my life ---> Io stesso ho commesso molti errori nella mia vita
In this example "Io stesso" is used in an emphatic way but you cant' write "Di me stesso ho commesso molti errori nella mia vita": it wolud be nonsense
2) I wash myself --> Mi lavo OR Lavo me stesso
Now you translate myself as "Mi" or "me stesso", not as "di me"
3) Have mercy on me ---> Abbi pietà di me OR Abbi pietà di me stesso
In this sentence in italian we use "di me" but it doesn't have a reflexive meaning, so in english it's not translated as "myself".
Maybe I could have been a bit clearer but I hope my suggestions could help you ;)
