A pronunciation question
Recently I am leaning a accent book.
Then the prononciation of "did you" make me confused.
When "did you" is in the beginning of a sentence, it is pronounced /didjə/.
But when it is in other places , it is pronounced /jə/.
Can anybody tell me why about that?
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Updating:
Sentences from the book(《American Accent Training》):
Did you see it? /didjə see(y)it/
How did you like it? /hæo jə lye kit/

Sometimes in certain accents and in more casual/informal speech, the words are slurred together. But it's the "did" that gets slurred into the previous word.
So, "How did you like it" becomes "how'd you like it?" (similarly "Where'd you go?"). Or from your book,
"How did" -> /hæo/
"you" -> /je/
When "Did" is at the beginning of the sentence, there's nothing for it to disappear into, so it's more fully pronounced. Does that make sense?

Firstly, let me help you correct some mistakes.
Recently I am leaning from an accent book.
Then the prononciation of "did you" makes me confused.
When "did you" is at the beginning of a sentence, it is pronounced /didju/.
But when it is in other places , it is pronounced /ju/.
Can anybody tell me why that is?
I don't quite understand your question but.. Are you referring to "see you". People may pronounce "see ya" /si:, jə/ instead..

I think that may not be right. I can't think of any time that 'did you' would be pronounced differently.
Whether at the beginning of the sentence: 'Did you see that?'
or in the middle: 'I didn't see that, did you see that?'
Can you give us any examples of sentences where the book says it is pronounced differently?
