inquire v. enquire? what is a difference between inquire and enquire?

enquire and inquire both have the same meaning. inquire is used to make a "formal" investigation while enquire is used for general asks but there is not much difference between the two words. enquire is more commonly used in British English while inquire is more commonly used in American English
