From my experience, I can say: - French and Italian might be very similar in grammar - French and Spanish might be similar in some vocabulary (but also Italian and English) - French and Portuguese might be similar in pronunciation It's true that Italian native speakers (or advanced Italian speakers) learn quickly French, but Italians rarely reach a soft pronunciation.
