"Force/compel someone to", how do I express this in Japanese?
What I've run into so far are 強制する, 強要する and 強いる, but admittedly I'm still entirely unsure as to whether they're used the way I'm expecting them to, so I'd like to ask for some advice.

子どもにご飯を食べさせて下さい。Please make child have a meal.
食べる＋させる＝食べさせる

彼女を８時までに家に帰らせてください。Please make her get home by 8 o'clock.
帰る＋させる＝帰らせる

I think you do it by using the causative form of the verb.

I'm not sure what level you are at with Japanese, but the verb 読む means to read, and the causative conjugation of the verb is 読ませる , so the following sentence:

先生が学生日本を読ませます。

means "the teacher made the students read a book".
