Please help a fellow Japanese leaner
Hey guys,
for the past year I have been wanting to study Japanese but for some reason, unbeknown to me, I can't find the motivation.
Maybe it's because I don't have any Japanese friends, can't find the right materials and have no time to take lessons.....but I don't wanna give up.
Who can:
Introduce some Japanese people living in Shanghai?
Give me some tips for learning Japanese?
Send me some useful material?
Give me some suggestions?
Your help is much appreciated!

1.Introduce some Japanese people living in Shanghai?
it's easy to find japanese people in Shanghai. exchange students will be a good choice i think
and there's a 'Japanese Corner'(something like English corner) in Luxun Park, and you can meet some Japanese people there.
2.Give me some tips for learning Japanese?
motivation is really important. for most chinese students, japanese animations, comics, games, tv series, pop songs, stars are extremely attractive.
3.Send me some useful material?
depends on what kind of material you want. listening?reading comprehension? or animations/ songs/ dramas(for fun)? you can also download a lot of material from Emule.
4.Give me some suggestions?
practice makes perfect. since you are really good at chinese, i think it won't be difficult for you to learn japanese. but you should pay attention to the japanese grammar, it's complicated. while chinese grammar is quite simple:-)
hope this helps

Hi, John/Mary,
I'm a Japanese learner and have learnt it for over 7 years.
About Q1: I know several Japanese salary men living in SH,they are learning Chinese from me and my co-worker is Japanese as well.I can check with them if or not they want to study English from you, maybe you can have a language change.BTW, there are about over 40 thousands of Japanese living in SH, so actually I think it won't be a problem to find a Japanese language partner if you're willing to:)
About Q2: Japan is such a different country from any other nation, so it would be helpful to find motivation by learning it's culture first. For example, start with Japanese food.
About Q3: Since I was learning Japanese by Chinese material, I not sure if ther are proper for you unless you speak Chinese as well. I'm giving you a web link for your imformation, but it's a Chinese web site.

About Q4: Okay, I think you should first start to learn Japanese from KANA then I will be able to give you more suggestions.
I'm also willing to teach you Japanese if you don't mind my bad English:)
