You could say 'of others' or 'about others' but 'don't assume the worst of others' is probably more natural and commonly used.

Hi You can say ´don't assume the worst about others´ as you are using ´about´ in connection with something Don't assume the worst of others is also correct as ´of ` can be used for belonging to, relating to, or connected with:
