Would the native speakers use the word in this way in their daily conversation? Is there any confusion caused? Entrée usually means the main course of a meal. Entrée = to join, participate, or form part of something / freedom of entry or access to something. "I was provided an entrée to a very exclusive club."

It is a more elegant construction than might be used in daily conversation, but it definitely is used in formal language. In this context, you pronounce it "ON-tray".
