'etto' e` la forma abbreviata di ettogrammo (= 100 grammi)
'chilo' e` la forma abbreviata di chilogrammo (= 1000 grammi)
Non usiamo mai 'ettogrammo' , raramente usiamo 'chilogrammo'.
Altri esempi dove non usiamo MAI abbreviazioni:
decametro, ettometro, chilometro (anche: kilometro),
ettolitro, decalitro (= 10 litri)

Esatto! Un etto sono 100 grammi, quindi 5 etti sono 500 grammi= 1/2 kilo
