I need a synonym for this clause.. “Go to work” as in “My teacher has to go to work now.” Can I say: “My teacher has to attend school now.” I know the second sentence is ambiguous in that it may mean that the teacher is attending school as in “studying”, but is it okay to put it like this?

How about: My teacher has classes now. It's what I say when I have to work: I have a class. or I have classes now.

You could say go to school, but not attend, as that definitely infers a student. My teacher has to start work now...
